Cobbleton 2015: What is Brimhaven?

First things first... what is the Brimhaven?

Brimhaven is an established civilization that will exist around the Portals we've placed at the middle of the map.  The Portals are the only way of accessing the Resource World this time around, so if you want to collect some blocks and items without damaging the overworld, you're going to want to be near enough to Brimhaven.

Do I have to build in the Brimhaven?

Absolutely not!  Brimhaven is an addition meant to make Cobbleton better.  If you have an idea for an establishment further into the map, you're welcome to build where you please, so long as it's within the map border.  People who build further out will not be penalized or punished, and those who choose to will find the experience to be just like any other Cobbleton experience from before.

Why should I build in Brimhaven?

The first reason you should build in Brimhaven is to know you'll be helping to foster a growing server community and you'll be at the forefront of the awesome projects we have in mind to really be able to make an interwoven, living world where players can cooperate and cohabitate an interesting space with one another.  You'll be able to easily see what everyone else is building, and you'll be able to take part in projects aimed at making an amazing eventual city in the center of the map.

The second reason you should build in Brimhaven is fairly simple: easy access to the resource world portal!

Do I need to build in Brimhaven to access the Resource World?

Nope!  Living in Brimhaven will make it easier to make your way to the world of resources, but anyone can enter the resource portal as long as they can access it.  As time goes on, it's likely some resourceful individuals will start bringing rail lines to Brimhaven from around the overworld and nether both.

Will we spawn at Brimhaven?

This is interesting: on many servers, the central town is the place where players begin their journeys.  On Cobbleton, we want it to be the focus of many players' journeys.  Players will spawn randomly in the world and be able to make their way to the central hub.  Imagine the awe when you find it!

Are there rules for building?

Not really.  We ask that you follow the general road design between areas of the town, respect the projects of others, and make your buildings look at least fairly nice.  We welcome the contribution of anyone in any way!
